Malcolm Balk lives, runs and teaches in Montreal. A competitive Masters runner, Malcolm has completed six marathons, and most recently won the Canadian Cross Championships. His Art of Running Workshops, now in their 25th year have been taught all over the world. As a coach and runner, Balk knows the importance of ease of movement. He focuses on using Alexander principles to help runners replace poor postural habits with a more efficient style in order to enhance performance, reduce the risk of injury and increase the enjoyment of running. He is co-author of the bestselling book ‘The Art of Running: Raising Your Performance with the Alexander Technique’.
Lindsay Newitter lives in New York City where she maintains a private teaching practice, offers workshops for companies and organizations, as well as lessons and group classes on running to many of her students who are recreational runners. Lindsay has been assisting Malcolm on Art of Running workshops for the past three years and in 2016 began working with him on his Art of Running Certification training for Alexander Technique teachers, assisting him on courses in Ireland, Argentina, and New York City.
Lindsay completed her Alexander Technique teacher training with John Nicholls and Nanette Walsh in 2007. She has also served as AmSAT’s Promotions Media Director since 2011.
